Volleyball Prepares for Challenge with No. 21 Flyers on the Road

WASHINGTON - Heading to week four of A-10 play, the GW volleyball program is set for a road series with the nationally ranked Dayton Flyers. The series will begin in Dayton, Ohio on Friday evening at 7 p.m. and conclude with a Saturday matinee at 1 p.m. Both matches will air live on ESPN+.
WEEK REWIND
The Revolutionaries emerged from their three contests over the past week, 2-1, after defeating George Mason, 3-0, on Wednesday evening in the first matchup of the Revolutionary Rivalry this season. In the weekend series with Davidson, each team claimed one matchup, with GW finishing the weekend at 5-2 in the Atlantic 10. The finish places GW tied for second in the conference with VCU, just behind the undefeated Flyers.
ON THE OPPONENT
The Dayton Flyers enter week four of A-10 action undefeated in the conference and with a 17-1 overall record following a weekend sweep over Loyola Chicago. Statistically, the Flyers rank first in numerous categories across the conference. The full breakdown of conference stats is here.
Leading the Flyers' offense this season is Lexie Almodovar. Across 18 matches, Almodovar has tallied 282 kills behind a .304 cumulative hitting percentage. Following behind is Liana Sarkissian with 146 kills (.399) and Brooke Smith with 141 (.280). All three will pose a significant challenge to GW across the net this weekend.
