WEEKEND RECAP
The Revolutionaries topped Rhode Island twice to pick up their first and second conference wins of the season this weekend. GW earned the 3-0 sweep on Saturday before outlasting the Rams 3-1 on Sunday to move to .500 (2-2) in A-10 action.
In Saturday's win, GW and Rhode Island went the distance in the final set, setting the program record for most points in a single set (37-35) since the rally-scoring rule change was introduced in 2008. The previous record was a three-set win over Idaho with a 32-30 opening set.
WOMBLE'S WEEKEND
Senior opposite Liv Womble made an impact for GW offensively this weekend, burying 26 kills across the two matches with just two errors on the weekend to hit above .457% in both wins. Womble earned a season-high 15 kills in Saturday's sweep, with a career-high (min. 10+ attempts) .481 hitting percentage. Womble averaged 3.71 kills/set and added six blocks to her memorable weekend. The Wilmington, N.C., native tallied four timely kills in the final stretch of the historic set, helping GW pick up its first 3-0 win of the season.
