Volleyball Falls to Conference-Leading Dayton, 3-0

WASHINGTON -Â Facing the literally tall task of defeating the unbeaten-in-conference-play Dayton Flyers, the George Washington volleyball team couldn't quite measure up.Â
Dayton took all six sets across yesterday's and today's contests to continue its stranglehold atop the A-10, standing now at 14-0 in conference play and 25-2 overall.Â
The Revolutionaries stayed close in the first set, as after holding a brief 2-1 early lead, the game was knotted at 15 in a race to secure the final 10 points to secure the opening set. Dayton proved to get there first, closing out the GW Revs with a 10-3 spurt to claim the opener.Â
Sets two and three weren't as tight, as the Flyers cruised to 25-13 and 25-15 wins, respectively. Game leaders for GW were Salem Yohannes with six kills, Maeve Loughran with 21 assists, and Amina Robinson with 12 digs.Â
GW hosts VCU next weekend for a pair of contests. First serve on Saturday comes at 4 p.m. while the action picks up Sunday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be carried live on ESPN+.
