GW to play pair of A-10 matches on Friday and Saturday
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball will head to Rhode Island for an A-10 weekend series with matches scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Keaney Gymnasium. Â
LAST TIME OUTÂ
Powered by a season-best hitting percentage on Saturday, GW swept Davidson, handing the Wildcats their second loss in A-10 play and first 3-0 loss in conference action. The Buff & Blue's season-high .342% consisted of 56 kills, the most in a three-set match this season. MC Daubendiek led the attack with 15 kills and Salem Yohannes added 14. In Friday's series opener, Davidson topped GW in three sets, with Daubendiek tallying a team-high nine kills.
THE FINAL STRETCHÂ
With the final pair of weekend series on tap for GW, they'll have a chance to clinch an A-10 Championship Tournament berth for the first time since 2019. The Buff & Blue currently rank fourth in the A-10, with the top-six teams advancing to the tournament. This year's Championship will be held at Chaifetz Pavilion in St. Louis, Mo. Â

Rhode Island (6-21 2-12 A-10) sits last in the Atlantic 10, with its pair of conference wins coming over Duquesne and George Mason. Brynne Wright leads the Rams' offense with 241 kills and Claire Wagner is second on the squad with 184. Hannah Blaney is seventh in the A-10 with 375 digs and ranks fourth in the conference with 35 service aces.
