Volleyball to Host Saint Louis

GW to play Billikens on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m.
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball returns to the Smith Center for a weekend series vs. Saint Louis, beginning with a 6 p.m. match on Friday before a 2 p.m. start on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for GW's "Dig Pink" match on Friday evening.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
GW stormed back to win three straight sets at George Mason on Tuesday, picking up the five-set victory to move to 9-9 on the season and 3-2 in A-10 play. The five-set win is GW's fifth this season and fourth on the road. As a team, GW registered 64 kills, led by Brittany Myers, who accounted for 19. MC Daubendiek added a career-high 14 kills while Liv Womble and Salem Yohannes chipped in 11 each.
Defensively, Tierra Porter again led GW at the net with seven blocks and Myers added six. Amina Robinson made her third straight start at libero, tallying 16 digs and Yohannes came up with 13.
FIVE SET SALLYÂ
After missing a few matches due to injury to start the season, Yohannes has begun to hit her stride for the Buff & Blue. At Mason, Yohannes put together a complete game, playing as a six-rotation outside hitter in all five sets. Yohannes recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 13 digs to go along with a team-leading five service aces. Yohannes also came up with three blocks and a pair of assists.
SCOUTING SLU
Saint Louis (12-5, 4-1 A-10) recently saw its four-match win streak end after a 3-1 loss vs. Loyola Chicago on Tuesday. Jillian Mattingly is second in the conference with a .357 hitting percentage and 138 kills. Carlie Rodgers leads the A-10 with 314 digs and is also first in the conference with 40 aces. The Billikens' four conference wins came in a pair of five-set victories at Rhode Island and two straight-set wins vs. George Mason.
