Danyko-Kulchycky leads offense for second consecutive game

WASHINGTON – Despite a 14-shot second half effort, GW women's soccer fell to American on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
13^th Minute: American's Juliana Saling found herself in front of the net off an assist from Jordan Mahony to give the visitors the early 1-0 lead.
82^nd Minute: American tacked on another midway through the second half, this time Tate Jordan dribbled one past Tamaki Machi. Fisayo Iluyomade was credited with the assist, giving AU the 2-0 advantage.

NOTEWORTHY:
• GW's offense came alive in the second half, taking 14 shots, nine of which were put on goal.

• Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky led the offense for the second consecutive game with five shots, putting four on net.
• GW held the 9-0 advantage on corner kicks, including a pair delivered by Sammy Neyman toward the end of regulation.
• First-year, Maggie Mockenhaupt, earned her first career start for the Buff and Blue, tallying 53 minutes on the pitch.
• Tamaki Machi made three saves in net. Machi has totaled 36 saves in six matches.
