Buff and Blue ink 11 for upcoming season
WASHINGTON - George Washington women's soccer head coach Michelle Demko has announced the addition of 11 student-athletes for the fall 2021 season. The group includes nine first-years and two graduate transfers.
"I am incredibly excited for the upcoming season," said Demko. "We have a very talented, competitive and dynamic roster filled with great people who love GW and are determined to succeed on and off the field."
"All of our returning players give us great leadership and exemplify what it means to live our core values of determination, commitment and respect," said Demko.
"Their commitment to discipline and excellence over the last few seasons has been tremendous. They are familiar with success, but also understand how important the journey is for us to continue to build and grow as people and players. With this type of mindset leading us, I am confident our new 11 players will walk into our program on day one and understand the value of hard work and investment that it takes to be successful at GW," said Demko. "I anticipate these new players jumping right in and strengthening our existing dynamic roster."
"Our staff worked hard with this recruiting class to ensure we were bringing in the right people that align with our values on and off the field. We are welcoming these new players from all over the country, along with two international players," said Demko.
"People will see these new faces on every line on the field for us. Collectively they bring a wealth of speed, athleticism, technical and tactical sophistication and a competitive mentality that will help push our program forward. I can't wait to get started with them and look forward to having them join our soccer family," said Demko.
