Lindo Jr. records first double-double of the season
LA JOLLA, Calif. - A hot-shooting start from the host UC San Diego Tritons spelled trouble for GW men's basketball on Saturday night as the Buff & Blue never found their shooting stroke in a 75-55 loss.
UCSD hit seven of their first 13 from beyond the arc en route to a 21-10 advantage 11 minutes into the game and maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
Ricky Lindo Jr. notched his first double-double of the season, and fifth of his GW career, with 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Colonials. Joe Bamisile and Brendan Adams chipped in 12 points a piece to record their third double-digit efforts in as many games.
GW, playing its third game in five days to start the season, shot just 36 percent from the floor and connected on only 3-of-19 long balls on the night. Conversely, UCSD shot 46% and hit 11 3-pointers. Francis Nwaokorie paced four Tritons in double figures with 19 points and five rebounds.
The Buff & Blue will remain on the West Coast for a Tuesday night matchup with Cal State Fullerton. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m.
