Feek leads GW offense for second straight match
ST. LOUIS – GW volleyball dropped its lone match of the weekend at Saint Louis on Saturday night, falling to the Billikens in straight sets, 20-25, 19-25, 16-25.
Addie Feek led the GW offense for the second straight match with six kills. Feek also led the defense alongside Salem Yohannes, tallying two blocks apiece.
Behind a six-point scoring run by SLU in the early stages of set one, the Billikens took a 14-7 advantage. GW put together its own scoring run to cut the home team's lead to three. GW would get within two, but three straight points from SLU lifted the Billikens to theone-set advantage.
Despite GW's match-best 12 kills on .423 efficiency in set two, Saint Louis took control from the opening point and led the rest of the way en route to a two-set advantage.
Saint Louis jumped ahead to its largest lead of the match in set three at 12-2. Despite a six-point scoring run midway through the final set, the Buff & Blue could not erase the deficit.
UP NEXT:Â GW continues its three-game road stretch next weekend, visiting Duquesne on Friday and Dayton on Sunday.
