Alicia Window scores in second straight game
WASHINGTON - GW women's soccer scored early in the second half and never looked back on their way to a 2-0 home victory against Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
Alicia Window scored her third goal in two games, and Erica Lorenzana stopped all five shots she faced in net for the Colonials.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-58th Minute: After a scoreless first half, the Colonial offense came out scalding hot, registering four shots in the first 15 minutes. The final shot, from first-year Alicia Window, found its way past Hawks goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti, giving GW a 1-0 lead. Kelly Amador assisted on Window's opener.
- 81st Minute: Beth Ellinport gave the Buff & Blue some insurance when she buried a right-footed shot into the back of the net. Kelly Amador set up Ellinport on the goal for her second assist of the contest.
NOTEWORTHY
- Window, who scored two goals in GW's last game, has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time in her career. Window joins Sammy Neyman as the only Colonial to score in back-to-back matches this season.
- Beth Ellinport's goal was the first of her season, and her first goal since she scored in a 4-0 victory during 2018.
- Sunday marked the first two-assist game of Kelly Amador's career.
