Colonials of the Week: Women's Basketball

As part of its season-long Bigger than Ball initiative, GW women's basketball pledged its continued support for Set The Expectation last week.
Set The Expectation is dedicated to combating sexual and physical violence through raising awareness, giving and serving, education and direct engagement with coaches, students and athletes in high school, collegiate and professional athletic programs.
Founder Brenda Tracy spoke at GW last fall, sharing her story of surviving a gang rape by four football players. After coming forward with her story in 2014, Tracy began traveling the country to share her story and work with college programs to sign the pledge committing programs to making a difference on their campus in combating sexual and physical violence.
Led by sophomore Faith Blethen, GW signed the pledge last week for the second straight year, signifying they will be part of the solution. Additionally, GW and James Madison teamed up prior to the game on Wednesday in their commitment to sign the pledge.
Other members of the Colonial community, including GW baseball and swimming & diving, also signed the pledge last week to continue to Set the Expectation.
