WASHINGTON - The Suite Life promises to deliver a sweet life, at least for two hours at a time when the Buff and Blue take the floor. The brainchild of Athletic Operations Associate Aaron Jones, in a world where game attendance is restricted, if not completely off the table, The Suite Life offers the next best thing -- bringing the game experience to living rooms across the country.
"There are silver linings in every challenge and for those of us who strive daily for excellence, an opportunity presented itself to rethink what 'Game Day' means," said GW Director of Athletics Tanya Vogel. "Our Engagement Unit was charged with conceptualizing new ways to secure revenue and resources to support our student-athletes, while simultaneously engaging our strong fanbase to continue to provide joy and school spirit to our community. The Suite Life is the marriage of those efforts and I personally can hardly wait to enjoy it when I can't be with one of our teams."Â
Replete with Game Day essentials, behind-the-scenes access, insider talk and social opportunities -- plus hoops swag to look and feel the part -- The Suite Life delivers to doorsteps everything needed to help offset the blues of not being in the building.
It also provides a win-win for the fan and for GW Athletics, as the department remains committed to providing championship athletic opportunities throughout challenging times. With the opportunity to emerge from this time-like-none-other as a stronger community, a Suite Life membership not only welcomes guests to a special club, it also provides invaluable donor support and resources for student-athletes to sustain and build GW Athletics' future.
After Jones brought the idea to Athletics' Engagement Unit, comprised of Communications, Development, Facilities, Operations, Events, Guest Experience, Marketing, Sponsorship and Ticketing, the group delved into bringing The Suite Life to fruition.Â
Today, with the thrill of basketball season just around the corner, GW Athletics is proud to extend this truly unique offering to faculty, family, friends, staff and students all to enjoy the same exciting Smith Center atmosphere from the safety and distance from home.
