Colonials look to break into the A-Division after back-to-back Hoehn Cup titles
2019-20 Schedule
WASHINGTON – The George Washington squash team will face eight teams that finished last season in the top 10 in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Poll as part of its 17-match regular season schedule in 2019-20, first-year head coach Anderson Good has announced.
The Colonials concluded the 2018-19 season by claiming the CSA Hoehn Cup (B-Division) for the second straight season, upsetting a trio of teams en route to the championship and matching their highest end-of-season ranking in program history at No. 9 in the nation. GW welcomes back eight players for this season and has added five student-athletes as the program looks to break into the Potter Cup (A-Division) of the CSA National Championships for the first time in program history.
The Buff and Blue are set to open their season on Nov. 8 by hosting Georgetown at 6 p.m. at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts in the Lerner Health and Wellness Center. The Colonials will also host No. 12 Virginia (Nov. 15), No. 8 Princeton (Nov. 17), No. 3 Pennsylvania (Nov. 23), No. 2 Trinity (Jan. 7), Vassar College (Jan. 9), No. 19 Middlebury (Jan. 11), No. 11 Saint Lawrence (Jan. 12), No. 25 Dickinson (Feb. 1), and No. 4 Rochester (Feb. 16).
The squad will also see action on the road at No. 6 Columbia (Nov. 24), No. 16 Navy (Jan. 15), No. 20 Williams (Jan. 18), No. 7 Dartmouth (Jan.19), No. 13 Cornell (Jan. 25), and No. 5 Yale (Jan. 26).
Before heading to the CSA Team Nationals on Feb. 28, the Colonials will go head-to-head against conference rivals at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship (Feb. 7-9).
CSA Individual Nationals are slated to begin March 3 and conclude on March 6.
