Colonials earn recognition for 13th straight year
WASHINGTON – The George Washington lacrosse team has been tabbed as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Honor Squad for the 13th straight year and for the 15th time in the past 16 seasons, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The Colonials boasted a 3.18 combined GPA for the 2018-19 academic year. To achieve IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status, a team must possess a 3.0 combined GPA or higher. The IWLCA recognized 303 teams in 2019, including 101 at the Division I level. GW was one of seven Atlantic 10 teams honored.
Highlighting the team's academic performance was Caroline Kiernan and Katie Quinn. Kiernan finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.54 while Quinn earned a 3.61, qualifying the pair for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
