Junior re-set school record in 3000m Steeplechase

Dannheim continued one of the best all-around track seasons in program history by re-establishing her school record in the 3000m Steeplechase on Saturday at the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa. The junior erased 15 seconds over her previous school record, finishing in a time of 10:23.95 to earn third place in the event and, more importantly, post a time that should qualify her for the NCAA East Regional next month.
Should Dannheim qualify, she will not only be able to compete in her hometown of Jacksonville, Fla., but she will become the first member of the GW women's track & field team to qualify for the regional competition in program history.
Dannheim has had a breakthrough junior season that started by earning All-Conference and All-Region honors in cross country. After establishing a new PR in the Indoor 3000m, she has set three new PRs in the outdoor season.
