Men’s Squash Pair Earns Top-15 CSA End-of-Season Rankings

Abdel-Maksoud ranked #11; Alterki ranked #12
WASHINGTON – The George Washington men's squash pair of Moudy Abdel-Maksoud and Mohammad Alterki have earned Top-15 College Squash Association (CSA) end-of-season rankings. Abdel-Maksoud caps his career as the #11 ranked player in the nation, while Alterki sits just behind him ranked #11.
Playing primarily at the No. 1 position all season, Abdel-Maksoud posted a 17-5 record, including a 2-1 mark at CSA Team Nationals to lead the Colonials to their second-straight Hoehn Cup (B-Division) Championship. The Cairo, Egypt, native amassed 55 victories throughout his career to rank third all-time on the men's career singles victories list. Abdel-Maksoud was also named a CSA All-American for the second-straight season after earning a spot in the A-Division Bracket at Individual Nationals.
Alterki put together a stellar sophomore season, pacing the team with his 19-8 record playing at Nos. 1, 2, and 3. The Mishref, Kuwait, native came out on top in his last eight matches of the season, including a perfect 3-0 at CSA Team Nationals. Alterki was also named a CSA All-American after earning a bid in the A-Division bracket at Individual Nationals.
