Colonials close the regular season with an 8-1 victory
WASHINGTON – In its last match of the regular season, the George Washington men's squash team put up one of its best performances of the season, upsetting No. 11 Drexel, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts in the Lerner Health & Wellness Center.
Prior to the match, senior co-captains Moudy Abdel-Maksoud and Julian Jervis were honored in a senior day ceremony. Jervis, in only his second season in the Buff and Blue, has accumulated 21 victories and won the deciding match for GW last season to win the Hohen Cup (B-Division) at Nationals.
Abdel-Maksoud has etched his name into the record books as one of the most successful student-athletes in program history, and with his win in today's match, takes sole possession of third place on GW's career victories list.
