Colonials secure back-to-back Hoehn Cup Championship

Event: College Squash Association (CSA) Team Nationals
The men's squash team made history on Sunday at the CSA Team Nationals, scoring its third upset in as many days to secure its second straight Hoehn Cup (B-Division) championship.
Going into CSA Team Nationals, GW was 2-5 against the B-Division field with wins over Navy and Drexel and losses to Western Ontario, Virginia, St. Lawrence and Franklin & Marshall. The Colonials went on to prove their prowess by defeating two of those teams in championship play, edging Western Ontario (5-4) in the quarterfinals and St. Lawrence (7-2) in the semifinal round.

Entering the tournament ranked No. 15, GW took on No. 10 Drexel in the finals and proved its commitment and determination with an impressive 6-3 victory over the Dragons to hold on to its title.
With the championship, GW (13-12) finishes the 2018-19 season ranked No. 9 in the nation, tying the highest ranking in program history.
