No. 15 Men’s Squash Heads to CSA Nationals

Colonials aim to hold on to Hoehn Cup title
SERVING FIRST: The No. 15 George Washington men's squash team will look to hold onto its Hoehn Cup (B-Division) title when it kicks off play at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships against No. 10 Western Ontario on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Yale Squash Courts.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials closed their regular season in dominant fashion on Saturday, upsetting then-No. 11 Drexel, 8-1. With his win on the top spot on the ladder, senior co-captain Moudy Abdel-Maksoud took sole possession of third place on GW's career victories list with 51 wins in the Buff and Blue.
NATIONALS REWIND: GW took home the Hoehn Cup for the first time in program history last season, upsetting Yale, 6-3, in the title match. With the title, the Colonials finished the 2017-18 season ranked No. 9 in the CSA, the highest ranking in program history.
BRACKET BREAKDOWN: The Hoehn Cup is comprised of teams ranked 9-16 in the latest CSA National Rankings. Also in the bracket along with GW and Western Ontario are No. 14 Cornell, No. 11 St. Lawrence, No. 12 Navy, No. 13 Drexel, No. 9 Virginia, and No. 16 Franklin & Marshall. GW is 2-5 against the field this season with wins over Navy and Drexel.
