
Hyduke Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

Colonial redshirt freshman averaged 22.0 ppg in two road wins
WASHINGTON - GW redshirt freshman Tori Hyduke was named the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week after helping lead the Colonials to a pair of double-digit comeback road wins. In addition, College Sports Madness honored Hyduke as the league's Player of the Week, and she is also this week's Capgemini Colonial of the Week.
Hyduke was superb in both contests, averaging 22.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game while playing 36.0 minutes per game. The Fair Haven, N.J., native, continued her phenomenal accuracy from the floor, shooting 56% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc.
Hyduke's week started with a 22-point display at Delaware on Wednesday, setting a new career high in the process. She hit 8-of-15 from the floor and drilled a career-best five triples on the offensive end in addition to locking down Delaware's top scoring threat defensively while playing the entire second half. Hyduke also added a career-high five steals for good measure.
Then, on Saturday, Hyduke authored an encore performance with 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting with four more long balls in the comeback win at Quinnipiac. She once again battled inside with four rebounds and dished out three assists.
For the season, Hyduke has been one of the top rookie performers in the A-10, ranking third among first-year student-athletes in the league with 13.2 ppg. Her 3-point sharpshooting, currently at 51.2%, is the top mark in the conference and the second-best among freshmen in the nation.
