Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at Dayton

Colonials return to action Sunday at Saint Louis
DAYTON, Ohio - GW volleyball saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Friday evening against first-place Dayton, falling to the Flyers in straight sets.
After battling the hosts in the first set, at one point closing to within 23-20, the Buff & Blue were unable to mount a consistent presence against UD, who remained unblemished in conference play.
GW was limited to four blocks in the match, its lowest against an A-10 opponent this season. The Flyers held the advantage in most statistical categories, most notably in attacking percentage where Dayton out-hit GW, .243 to .043.Â
Graduate student Caroline Sklaver paced the Colonials with six kills, two digs and a block on the night, hitting .400 from her middle blocker position in 10 attempts. Senior Jordan Young hit .200 with five kills in 20 attempts.
Senior Jaimeson Lee was a dig shy of a double-double with 18 assists and nine digs while sophomore Bella Bowman led GW with 17 digs.
The Colonials continue their road swing by visiting Saint Louis on Sunday with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
