Men’s Squash Reveals Match Schedule

Colonials look to build off of successful 2017-18 season
2018-19 Schedule
WASHINGTON – The George Washington men's squash team will face eight teams that finished last season in the top 10 in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Poll as part of its 17-match regular season schedule in 2018-19, head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced.
The Colonials concluded the 2017-18 season as the CSA Hoehn Cup (B-Division) champions, upsetting Yale, 6-3, to secure their highest end-of-season ranking in program history at No. 9 in the nation. GW welcomes back eight players for this season and have added three student-athletes as the program looks to break into the Potter Cup (A-Division) of the CSA National Championship for the first time in program history.
The Buff and Blue will open their season by hosting Georgetown on Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts in the Lerner Health & Wellness Center before kicking off a 10-match road stint where they will face seven top-10 opponents. The Colonials will first go head-to-head with No. 26 Hobart (Nov. 10, 12 p.m.) and No. 11 Western Ontario (Nov. 11, 10 a.m.) before taking on No. 7 Pennsylvania (Nov 17, 4:30 p.m.), No. 8 Princeton (Nov. 18, 1 p.m.), No. 5 Dartmouth (Dec. 2, TBA), No. 12 Brown (Dec. 7, 6 p.m.), No. 1 Trinity (Dec. 8, TBA), and No. 19 Middlebury (Dec. 9, 12 p.m.).
The squad will then take a hiatus over the winter break before kicking off their winter schedule at No. 4 St. Lawrence (Jan. 12, TBA) and No. 6 Rochester (Jan. 13, 12 p.m.).
The Colonials will return home to host No. 15 Navy on January 16 a 5:30 p.m. before welcoming No. 21 Williams to the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts on January 20 at noon.
GW will wrap up its regular season with bouts at No. 24 Virginia (Jan. 23, 5:30 p.m.) and against No. 10 Yale (Jan. 26, 11 a.m.), No. 3 Columbia (Jan. 27, 11 a.m.), and No. 13 Drexel (Feb. 9, 2 p.m.).
The Buff and Blue will also compete in the first-annual Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championships (Feb. 2-3) before closing out their season with CSA Team Nationals (Feb. 15-17) and CSA Individual Nationals (March 1-3).
