Sophomore forward also named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week
After notching a hat trick in Friday's 3-2 win over Stony Brook to kick off the GW men's soccer season, Oscar Haynes Brown was named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The sophomore forward found the net in the 57th, 72nd and 76th minutes to help the Colonials come back to beat the Seawolves at GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus. It was the program's first hat trick since Seth Rudolph did it vs. Saint Joseph's in November 2010. In recognition of that feat, he's the first Colonial to earn conference Offensive Player of the Week honors since Garrett Heine on Nov. 7, 2016.
Haynes Brown picked up right where he left off after a breakout freshman season in which he earned A-10 All-Rookie honors. In 14 career games, he's totaled nine goals and two assists.
