Track Ready for A-10 Outdoor Championships
5/3/2018 12:00:00 AM | Men's Track/Cross Country
The two-day championship meet begins Saturday with trials before the top finishers advance to Sunday finals.
Four event championships will be contested Saturday with Suzanne Dannheim, Kathryn Nohilly, Carter Day and Matt Lange in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Connor James and Andrew Weber in the 10,000-meter run for the Colonials.
Chris Shaffer (Fourth, 1,500m) is GW's top returning performer on the men's side, while Halley Brown (Seventh, 1,500m) and Madison Yerke (Eighth, 1,500m) both earned All-Conference honors last spring, as well.
GW has already enjoyed a banner outdoor season with five men's records and four women's marks falling so far this spring. Dannheim (3,000m steeplechase) and Day (5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase) will try to improve on their own record-breaking efforts from earlier in the season. (Check out the full record book here.)
