
No. 12 Women's Squash Opens Spring Schedule

WASHINGTON â€" The No. 12 George Washington women's squash team opened up its spring schedule with a narrow 5-4 loss against No. 11 Williams at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Breanne Flynn earned a 3-0 sweep over Nicole Friedman in the No. 1 position on the ladder, while freshman Engy El Elmandouh came up on top, 3-1, in the No. 2 position over Hayley Parsons.
Also earning wins was freshman Emma Tryon (3-0 at No. 4), and junior Abby Shonrock (3-2 at No. 6), but Williams picked up key wins at Nos. 3, 5, and 7-9 to clinch the win.
GW will travel north for a trio of matches next weekend. The Colonials will face No. 20 Saint Lawrence and No. 15 Middlebury on Saturday in Canton, New York, followed by a Sunday matinee at No. 8 Cornell.
