GW Squash's Oakley Competing at WSF Junior Championships

WASHINGTON - George Washington men's squash incoming freshman Jamie Oakley is set to compete at the World Squash Federation (WSF) World Juniors Individual Championships in Bielsko-Biala, Poland, this month.
Oakley carries international playing experience into the tournament. The top-ranked junior in his native New Zealand, he previously was the runner-up at the 2015 Canadian Junior Open. He also was the Boys Under 19 New Zealand Junior Open Champion in 2016 and the 2015 Boys Under-19 New Zealand National Champion.
The early rounds of the individual draw commence on Saturday, August 6th, followed by the Round of 64 (August 7), Rounds of 32 and 16 (August 8), quarterfinals (August 9), semifinals (August 10) and Finals (August 11). There is also a trio of consolation brackets where losing players can advance through following a first-round loss.
A total of 107 athletes from 31 countries are slated to compete in the event.
Oakley will face off against Poland's Fillip Jarota in the first round with the winner advancing to face the victor of the match between Lai Cheuk Nam Matthew (Hong Kong) and Robin Mann (India). The full men's draw is available here.
Oakley is also scheduled to compete in the team portion of the event with his native New Zealand from August 12-17.
