2016-17 Schedule
WASHINGTON - George Washington women's squash head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced that the Colonials will host seven matches at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center as part of its 14-match regular-season schedule.
GW returns seven letterwinners, including College Squash Association (CSA) Second Team All-American Breanne Flynn, from last year's squad that finished with a final national ranking of No. 13 and went 2-1 at the CSA National Championship while competing in the Kurtz Cup (B-Division).
The Colonials also welcome a quintet of newcomers to the roster as they aim to return to the Howe Cup (A-Division) at the CSA National Championship for the second time in program history.
GW will face five teams that finished in the top ten of last year's final CSA National Poll, including a home match against No. 5 Yale on January 28. The Colonials will also visit No. 2 Pennsylvania (Nov. 19), No. 4 Princeton (Nov. 20), No. 8 Columbia (Dec. 4) and No. 7 Cornell (Jan. 28).
Additional home matches include the season opener on November 11 against Georgetown and meetings with Johns Hopkins (Nov. 13), No. 12 Williams (Jan. 14), No. 16 Virginia (Jan. 31), No. 14 Franklin & Marshall (Feb. 4) and No. 10 Drexel (Feb. 10).
The Colonials will also visit Virginia in the front end of a home-and-home series on December 2 in addition to road dates at St. Lawrence (Jan. 21) and Dickinson College (Feb. 11).
