WASHINGTON - Five student-athletes are slated to join the George Washington women's squash team for the 2016-17 season, head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced.
The class features one international student-athlete in Engy El Mandouh (Cairo, Egypt), along with Emma Tryon (Hartford, Conn.) from New England and a trio of freshman from the Mid-Atlantic - Samira Baird (Philadelphia, Pa.), Elle Carroll (New York, N.Y.) and Isobel Brinkworth (Buffalo N.Y.).
The quintet joins a roster of seven returning letterwinners that is coming off of a 10-8 season and a victory in the Kurtz Cup (B-Division) Consolation Finals at last season's College Squash Association (CSA) National Championship.
CSA Second Team All-American Breanne Flynn, who went 14-4 in her junior season, is GW's top returning player. Last season she joined four-time All-American Anna Gabriela Porras as the only players in program history to earn the distinction.

She is the top player in the Buffalo area and will continue to grow at GW."
