No. 13 GW vs. No. 4 Trinity: Saturday, 2:00 p.m. | Washington, D.C.
REGULAR SEASON FINALE: The No. 13 George Washington women's squash team will wrap its regular season with a pair of critical matches this weekend. First, the Colonials visit No. 14 Franklin & Marshall on Friday in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, before hosting No. 4 Trinity for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials upset then-No. 9 Drexel, 5-4, in Philadelphia. Wins by senior Anna Gabriela Porras, junior Breanne Flynn, sophomore Mary Jo Mahfood, freshman Ginger Sands and junior Mehek Chawla led the Colonials to their seventh win of the season.
SENIOR SALUTE: Saturday marks the final time that seniors Anna Gabriela Porras, Alexa Tzarnas and Emely Levyn will compete at the Grossman Squash Courts. The trio, along with Eunice Tan (injured) have been a part of 41 team victories over the past four seasons, including GW's 2013-14 Kurtz Cup (B-Division) title. The seniors also played a key role in having the Colonials appear in the Howe Cup (A-Division) bracket of the CSA National Championship for the first time in program history at the conclusion of last season.
Porras will graduate as the most decorated player in the history of GW women's squash. She enters the weekend with a program record 51 career victories and is GW's first ever player (female or male) to earn All-America honors from the CSA, a distinction she has earned three times in her career.
Tzarnas (33 career victories), Levyn (33) and Tan (16) have also played a crucial role in the rise of the GW women's squash program and its arrival as a national title contender amongst the country's elite programs.
