
No. 13 Women's Squash Buries Johns Hopkins, 9-0

WASHINGTON - The No. 13 George Washington women's squash team completed its season-opening weekend with a dominant 9-0 triumph over visiting Johns Hopkins on Sunday at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center.
GW (2-0) won each of the seven contested matches in three games in addition to a pair of defaults at the Nos. 8 and 9 positions on the ladder.
Four of the Colonials' freshmen earned wins with rookie Emma Tryon leading the way at the No. 1 position on the ladder with an 11-1, 11-4, 11-3 win over Carley Petrone.
Her classmates Elle Carroll (11-2, 11-1, 11-2 over Courney Colwell) and Samira Baird (11-0, 11-2, 11-1 over Nora Jandhyala) followed suit at Nos. 3 and 4.
Isobel Brinkworth rounded out GW's freshmen wins with an 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 dismantling of Rio Oba at No. 6.
Junior Abby Shonrock was dominant at No. 2 as she cruised to an 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 win over Meenakshi Chatrahi.
Sophomore Brooke Feldman (11-0, 11-2, 11-3 over Audrey Collins) and junior Erica Chemtob (11-2, 11-1, 11-3 over Camilla Vilasante) rounded out GW's lineup with wins at Nos. 5 and 7, respectively.
GW will travel for its first road matches of the season next weekend against a pair of top-five teams. The Colonials will visit No. 2 Penn (Sat., 12 p.m.) and No. 4 Princeton (Sun, 12 p.m.).
