GW Men's Cross Country Takes Fourth at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Senior Ryan Tucker finished in sixth place overall out of 51 total competitors to lead the George Washington men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish out of seven competing teams at Saturday's Navy Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Golf Course.
GW totaled 94 points to take fourth place, its best finish at the Navy Invitational since taking fifth place in 2009.
Navy won the event with 25 points followed by Georgetown (42), American (84), Loyola (Md.) (142), McDaniel (187) and Bowie State (191).
Tucker recorded his second consecutive top finish by navigating the 8,000-meter course in 25:09.15. He finished 27 seconds behind the winner of the race, Navy's Lucas Stalnaker.
Senior John-Louis Pane finished in 25:44.95 for GW's second-best time of the day. He finished in 18th place with the best 8K cross country time of his career. His previous best time was 25:58 at the 2012 Princeton Invitational.
Junior Jordan Pantalone was next across the finish line for the Colonials, finishing in 26:40.06 for 29th place. Classmate Seamus Roddy was right behind, taking 31st place in 26:48.99.
Sophomore Charles Arnold rounded out GW's lineup by posting a career-best, 8K cross country mark of 27:13.83 for 34th place. He beat his previous personal record by over two minutes.
The Colonials will be idle next weekend before co-hosting the DCXC/GW Invitational on Saturday, September 26 at Kenilworth Park in Washington, D.C.
