No. 17 GW Men's Squash Splits Saturday Doubleheader

WASHINGTON - The No. 17 George Washington men's squash team concluded its regular-season schedule with a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at the Lerner Health & Wellness Center.
GW (9-8) fell, 5-4, to No. 12 Drexel in the first match of the day before rebounding to sweep Virginia, 9-0, in its regular-season finale.
GW got wins from freshman Mason Ripka (11-6, 4-11, 11-7, 11-9 at No. 1), sophomores Andres de Frutos (11-5, 11-5, 12-10 at No. 3), Nicolas Valderrama (11-5, 5-11, 4-11, 11-4, 13-11 at No. 4) and Josh Marks (11-9, 11-8, 3-11, 3-11, 11-7 at No. 5) against Drexel.
GW will be idle next weekend before returning to action at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships Feb. 20-22, in Hartford, Connecticut.
