Ryan Tucker finished first in the the 3,000-meter run to help lead the George Washington men's indoor track team to third place out of five teams at the season-opening Christopher Newport University Holiday Open on Saturday.
Tucker's time of 8:38.57 in the 3000m was three seconds ahead of the field and just four-tenths of a second off of his school-record time (8:38.11) from last season's Navy Invitational.
