LEADING OFF: GW is ranked No. 8 in the College Squash Association (CSA) Preseason Poll. The mark is the highest preseason ranking in program history for the Colonials. GW concluded last season ranked No. 7 after the program's first-ever appearance in the Kurtz Cup (A-Division) at the CSA National Championships.
LAST TIME OUT: GW rolled Georgetown, 8-1, in its season debut on October 23. The Colonials won eight of the nine matches in straight sets, with the only blemish being a default defeat in the No. 9 position on the ladder.
PORRAS CLIMBING: Senior Anna Gabriela Porras picked up her 43rd career victory with an easy 11-2, 11-2, 11-2 sweep against the Hoyas. She is currently tied with Kelly Barnes (2010-14) for second place on GW's career wins list and needs just three more victories to surpass Jackie Shea (2010-14) to become the GW's all-time leader.
FELDMAN CONNECTION: Freshman Brooke Feldman made her collegiate debut against Georgetown and won, 11-2, 11-2, 11-3, in the No. 7 position on the ladder. Her older broker, Brett, was a four-year member of the GW men's squash team, helping the Colonials to the Summers Cup (C-Division) Championship in 2011-12.
SCOUTING DICKINSON: The Red Devils are ranked No. 27 in the CSA Preseason Poll and will travel to Annapolis, Maryland, to open their season against Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
