GW Men's Squash Announces 2015-16 Schedule

WASHINGTON â€" The George Washington men's squash team will play a total of 20 matches, including five at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center, as part of its 2015-16 schedule, head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced.
GW returns 11 letterwinners after finishing with a national ranking of No. 14 in the final College Squash Association (CSA) National Poll last season. The Colonials competed in the Hoehn Cup (B-Division) for the first time ever and finished with the best end-of-season ranking in program history.
GW welcomes two international student-athletes to its roster for 2015-16 in freshmen Moudy Abdel-Maksoud (Cairo, Egypt) and Juan Pablo Mejia (La Libertard, El Salvador).
The Colonials' 2015-16 slate features six teams that were ranked in the top-10 of last year's final CSA National Poll, including home matches against defending national champion Trinity (Jan. 7) and a date with No. 7 Penn (November 21). GW will also visit No. 4 Columbia (Jan. 24), No. 6 Yale (Jan. 29) and No. 8 Franklin & Marshall (Feb. 12) in addition to a neutral-site match against No. 10 Dartmouth in Annapolis, Maryland (Dec. 4).
The Colonials will also play host to Georgetown (Nov. 4), Colby (Jan. 22) and Johns Hopkins (Feb. 13) at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts.
GW will return to the Yale Round Robin in January 2016 and will face host Yale (Jan. 29), Brown (Jan. 30) and Cornell (Jan. 31).
Additional opponents in 2015-16 include Virginia, Dickinson, Hobart, Denison, Dartmouth, Navy, Williams, Bates, Western Ontario, Drexel and Franklin & Marshall.
The CSA Team Nationals will be played at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, February 26-28.
