WASHINGTON - George Washington men's squash head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced that six student-athletes will be joining the program in the fall.
The class includes Billy Berner (Greenwich, Conn.), Harry Graham (Darien, Conn.) and Mason Ripka (New York, N.Y.) from the New York City metro area along with John Bassett (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Omar Mussehl (Seattle, Wash.) The class also includes the men's squash team's first international student-athlete since the 2012-13 season in Oisin Logan from Dublin, Ireland.
"This is an impressively strong group of six incoming freshman that will help us attain our goal of reaching the top-15 of the College Squash Association this upcoming season," said Coach Lawrence. "Two freshmen players will play in the top four of the ladder from the start and several of the others will be key players moving forward."
"Our strong group of returning players, which includes Andres de Frutos, Nicolas Valderrama, James Reiss, Reid Breck and Josh Marks, coupled with this talented group of freshman will put us in a position to enter the B-Division at Nationals for the first time in program history," said Coach Lawrence. "With only one senior on the roster we have the opportunity to develop into a top-ten team as we progress over the next two years."
