No. 16 GW Men's Squash Splits Final Fall Weekend

BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 16 George Washington men's squash team concluded the fall portion of its schedule by splitting a pair of matches at this weekend's Harvard Round Robin at the Murr Center.
GW (5-2) opened its weekend on Saturday afternoon against No. 18 Brown, falling 6-3, before rebounding for an 8-1 win over the University of Toronto on Sunday afternoon.
GW's top three each picked up a pair of victories in the two matches, with sophomore Andres de Fruots extending his season-opening win streak to 7-0.
De Frutos earned a 3-2 triumph over Brown's Alex Baldock 11-7, 6-11, 11-4, 3-11, 11-8 at No. 2 before posting a 3-0 sweep on Sunday.
At No. 1, freshman Mason Ripka swept his way to an 11-6, 11-8, 12-10 victory over Brown's Jack Blasberg before a 3-1 win on Sunday. Ripka's record now stands at 6-1 after the fall semester.
Freshman Oisin Logan also earned a pair of victories this weekend, first downing Thomas Blecher of Brown on Saturday, 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 12-10, before a 3-0 sweep on Sunday against the University of Toronto.
GW returns to action on the west coast on January 3 when it faces No. 14 Bates College at Stanford University.
