
No. 17 GW Men's Squash Wins Twice on Sunday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The No. 17 George Washington men's squash team improved to 3-0 with a 9-0 win over Denison and an 8-1 victory over No. 26 Hobart on Sunday afternoon at the Navy Squash Courts.
GW won eight matches over Denison (0-3) in straight sets in the first match of the day. Freshman Mason Ripka won 11-4, 11-6, 11-4 at No. 1 over Andrew Krayacich while sophomore Andres de Frutos handled Sherief Shanin at No. 2, 11-3, 11-6, 11-7.
GW yielded just 4.1 points per set in its eight victories and picked up the ninth point at No. 9 via default.
Against Hobart, de Fruots (No. 2), sophomore Josh Marks (No. 6) and freshmen Oisin Logan (No. 3), Billy Berner (No. 4) and John Bassett (No. 7) each provided straight-set victories in the Colonials' 8-1 win.
Ripka dropped the first set of his collegiate career before rallying for an 11-13, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 win over Felipe Pantle at No. 1.
Freshman Omar Mussehl outlasted Scott Marcus in five sets at No. 9, 18-16, 10-12, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5.
GW returns to action when it travels to Ithaca, New York, next Saturday for a doubleheader against No. 8 Cornell (10 a.m.) and No. 15 Western Ontario (4 p.m.).
