GW Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at Mason Invite

LEESBURG, Va. - The George Washington men's cross country team totaled 83 points to finish in third place out of seven competing teams on Saturday morning at the George Mason Invitational at Oatlands Plantation.
VMI won the event with 28 points while host George Mason finished in second place with 29 points. GW finished third, ahead of UNC-Wilmington (102), American (128), Catholic (187) and Southern Maryland (201).
Junior Ryan Tucker tallied his second consecutive top finish as he led the Colonials in 13th place out of 62 competitors. Tucker navigated the 8,000-meter course in 27:19.90.
Freshman Ryan DePinto followed Tucker in 14th place, registering a time of 27:19.90.
Sophomore John-Louis Pane was next across the line for the Colonials, tallying a time of 27:44.60 for 19th place. Sophomore Seamus Roddy followed in 27:59.40 for 22nd place.
Freshman Carter Day turned in a time of 28:16.50 to take 26th place while senior Tyler Gillies finished in 30th place in 28:45.70.
Sophomore Jordan Pantalone finished in 29:16.80 to take 36th place and freshman Charles Arnold rounded out GW's scorers with a 42nd-place finish in 29:42.10.
GW returns to action on Oct. 18 at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey. The race marks the final regular-season race before the Atlantic 10 Championship on Nov. 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
