
No. 20 GW Men's Squash Wraps Road Weekend

AMHERST, Mass. - The No. 20 George Washington men's squash team nearly knocked off home-standing No. 22 Amherst on Sunday, but fell 5-4 on Sunday morning to conclude its weekend road trip.
GW (3-7) opened its weekend on Friday night in South Hadley, Mass., against No. 9 Western Ontario, falling 9-0.
On Saturday, sophomore Reid Breck provided the lone victory as the Colonials fell to No. 12 Bates, 8-1. Breck dropped the first set to Nasil Saleem at No. 4 before rallying for a 8-11, 11-1, 11-9, 11-6 victory.
On Sunday, the Colonials battled No. 22 Amherst to the wire before yielding a 5-4 decision to the Bobcats. Breck picked up his second win of the weekend in five sets at No. 4. Also tallying wins for the Colonials were freshman Nicolas Valderrama at No. 2, sophomore James Reiss at No. 3 and freshman Josh Marks at No. 5.
GW returns to action next weekend in New Haven, Conn., at the annual Yale Round Robin. The Colonials open play on Friday against No. 18 Williams (7:30 p.m.) before matches against No. 21 Bowdoin (Saturday, 2:00 p.m.) and No. 19 Middlebury (Sun., 11:30 a.m.).
