WASHINGTON - The GW women's squash team has earned a national ranking of No. 16 in the College Squash Association (CSA) preseason poll, the organization announced on Monday evening.
GW (1-0) defeated Georgetown, 9-0, in Friday's season opener, the fifth year in a row the Colonials have downed their District rival in the first match of the season.
The Colonials earned a final national ranking of No. 17 following last season's Walker Cup (C-Division) Championship, their second time winning the cup in the past three seasons. GW's highest national ranking in program history is No. 14, which they achieved last season.
GW returns to action this weekend with a match against Navy on Sunday in Annapolis, Md.
