Women's Squash Swept at Yale Round Robin

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 14-ranked George Washington women's squash team competed at the annual Yale Round Robin this past weekend, dropping three matches to No. 6 Stanford, No. 10 Williams and No. 12 Middlebury.
GW (5-5) was swept in straight sets in its first match of the weekend against No. 6 Stanford. The Colonials rebounded to win several sets against No. 10 Williams but ultimately lost, 9-0. Sophomore Jackie Shea stole the third set in the No. 1 position against Alli Rubin before falling 3-1 (11-4, 11-6, 6-11, 11-7).
On Sunday against Middlebury, Shea won the first two sets in the No. 1 position against Elena Laird but ultimately conceded a 3-2 decision, 6-11, 7-11, 13-11, 11-5, 11-9.
The Colonials will return home to face St. Lawrence on Thursday afternoon at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center at 4:30 pm.
