Men's Squash Splits Second Day at Trinity Round Robin

HARTFORD, Conn. - The No. 17-ranked George Washington men's squash team was swept by No. 1 Trinity before rebounding for an 8-1 victory over No. 18 Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Round Robin.
GW (6-2) fell, 9-0, in the first match of the afternoon against No. 1 Trinity, the 13-time defending national champions. The Bantams have now won 249 consecutive matches, the longest winning streak in the history of intercollegiate varsity athletics.
The Colonials rebounded by avenging their 2011 loss at CSA Nationals to Bowdoin with a convincing 8-1 victory. Junior Islam El-Fiky, senior Sam Ehricl, sophomore Larkin Brinkworth and freshman David Moxley led the way with straight-set victories to send the Colonials to their fifth win of the season.
Junior Omar Sobhy and sophomore Chris Bell were each pushed to five sets before outlasting their respective opponents.
The Colonials return to action on Saturday with a visit to New Jersey to face Ivy League foe Princeton.
