GW Dominates Wesleyan Round Robin, Improve To 8-2 Overall

WASHINGTON, DC- The No. 18-ranked George Washington women's squash team dominated competition at the Wesleyan Round Robin en route to an impressive 4-1 record over the weekend. The Colonials lone loss came to No. 3-ranked Trinity College.
On Saturday, GW dropped just two games as they easily defeated Smith (9-0), No. 16 Wesleyan (7-2) and No. 20 Colby (9-0). Freshman Elizabeth Tapley had a breakout afternoon as she dominated in her three matches. She recorded an 11-4, 11-1, 11-0 win over Colby's Jae Paik and cruised to victories over Smith's Jasmine Wallas (11-3, 11-4, 11-3) and Wesleyan's Tanesha Jackson (11-8, 11-9, 11-8).
Tapley's breakout weekend carried over to Sunday where she swept Alexandra Peacock of Bowdoin College (11-4, 11-2, 11-6). Freshman Becca Imrich also shined against Bowdoin as she recorded an 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 win over Hogbei Li.
GW's four-match win streak came to an end as they fell to Trinity College in the final match of the weekend, 9-0.
The Colonials will take a break from competition for final exams and winter recess and will return to action on January 16 when they face Williams College in Annapolis, MD at 1:00pm.
