WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington men's squash defeated both Virginia and Haverford Saturday afternoon in their final home matches of the 2007-08 season, played in front of large crowds at the Lerner Health and Wellness Center. The Colonials, ranked 27th in the country, did not drop a single match all day, defeating both the Cavaliers and Fords by a final score of 9-0.
The Haverford match marked the final home contest for the three GW seniors: No. 1 player Jarryd Commerford and co-captains Alex Funk and Stefan Georg. All three ended their GW career on a positive note, as they each won both of their matches on Saturday.
George Washington, who ended the regular season 9-7, will travel to Harvard next weekend, Feb. 15-17, for the College Squash Association Team Championships.
