Women's Squash Has Successful Weekend at Wesleyan Round Robin

MIDDLETOWN, CT - George Washington Women's Sqaush had a successful Wesleyan Round Robin, going 5-1 in their six matches over a three-day span.
The Colonials defeated #28 Connecticut College 7-2 on Friday and swept their two Saturday matches be defeating #27 Columbia 7-2 and #26 Wesleyan 9-0. The program also earned their first-ever victory over #18 Vassar 7-2 before concluding with a 9-0 sweep over #32 Smith College. The weekend ended with a 5-4 loss to #11 Mt. Holyoke College, but the groundwork was laid for a very successful season.
Paige Beaton, Elaine Purcell, Kate Gorgi, and Eliza Ehrlich were all undefeated throughout the weekend. Gorgi only dropped 17 points all weekend and outscored her opponents 162-17 and didn't lose any points to Vassar or Smith.
Head Coach Maura Myers was very excited over her team's strong weekend. "This weekend's results has excited me for our second semester schedule when we will face more teams in the top 20." said Myers.
