PRINCETON, NJ -- The GW women's rowing team traveled to Princeton, NJ, Sunday to compete in the Princeton Chase regatta. The conditions were ideal for racing with temperatures in the 60s and only a slight headwind under sunny skies. The water was flat throughout three-mile course which started in nearby Kingston, NJ, and finished at the Princeton University boathouse.
The GW women raced two varsity eights in the Women's Open Eight. The GW A boat finished 25th while the B boat placed 38th of 45 entries in the race. The majority of the competing schools are ranked among the Top 20 in the country.
Women's Varsity Coach Helen Betancourt has noticed improvement this Fall. "It was a positive way to end the fall racing season," Betancourt said. "We certainly improved our performance on them since the Head of the Charles."
