Danya Ellman is in her 18th year at GW and currently oversees all athletic department internal operations including educational support services, student-athlete development, DEI, compliance, policies and procedures, and staff management. In addition, she serves as the department's Senior Woman Administrator and Title IX Deputy. Ellman is a three-time graduate of GW, having earned a bachelor's degree in psychology (2006), a masters in clinical mental health counseling (2012) and a masters in business administration with a concentration in sport management (2018). Ellman also holds the title of part-time faculty and has taught courses in the Milken Institute School of Public Health, the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Business.

Danya was promoted to the role of Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations in September 2022, as she was previously serving as the Associate AD for Educational Support Services. During her tenure at GW, Danya has held multiple positions initially starting as a graduate assistant in the office of academic support.

During her time at GW, Ellman has also worked in various part-time roles outside of the university as a substance abuse counselor and a high school teacher. Ellman is passionate about life-long learning and values her role as an educator for GW’s student-athletes.

Originally from Wayland, Massachusetts, Danya and her husband Andy have a son, Jack.
