Anderson Good enters his second season as the head coach for the Men’s and Women’s Squash programs, his sixth year at GW.
In July of 2019, Good was selected to lead the program, becoming one of the youngest head coaches in all of Division I athletics.
In the 2019-20 season, Good led the men’s and women’s programs to top 15 finishes in the national rankings (Men No. 15 Women No. 14). In the same season, Good helped Zoe Foo clinch the first ever first team All-American nomination in GW men’s and women’s squash history.
After helping lead the men to their first-ever Hoehn Cup (B-Division) Championship in 2017-18, Good found himself on the national stage the next season, clinching another Hoehn Cup victory. Ultimately, Moudy Abdel Maksoud, Mohammad Alterki and Zoe Foo were selected as Second Team All-Americans.
Following the men’s program first Hoehn Cup Championship in 2018, GW finished that season with its highest national ranking in program history of No. 9. The women also had a successful season, finishing as No. 14 in the nation after posting notable wins against Virginia, Colby, Amherst, and Bates.
In his second season, Good continued to lead the GW Squash program on an upward trajectory. The men’s team concluded the season as the No. 11 team in the College Squash Association while the women’s team finished the season ranked No. 12. Under Good's guidance, the men closed out the season with four victories over ranked opponents, including an upset over then-No.10 Cornell. Additionally, then-freshman Jamie Oakley finished his first collegiate squash season as the runner-up in the Malloy Cup (South Division) at the CSA Individual National Championships, while then-senior Andres de Frutos concluded his career as a Colonial ranked third in program history with 49 career victories.
In the summer of 2017, Good founded the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) and it became the fourth officially sanctioned College Squash Association conference and the first ever squash-specific collegiate athletic conference in the United States.
Good concluded a successful collegiate run at St. Lawrence University, earning 44 victories across his four-year career. He served as team captain as a senior in 2014-15, helping the Saints to a No. 2 national ranking, the highest in program history.
As a senior, Good advanced to the Round of 16 in the Malloy Cup (B-Division) of the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual National Championships and concluded the season ranked No. 41 overall in the CSA men's individual rankings.
Good played scholastically at Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, helping his squad to a United States ranking of No. 2 in 2010. He served as team captain in 2011 and earned a US Junior Squash ranking of No. 20 for the Boys Under-19 Division.
