GW has suspended all upcoming non-essential, GW-affiliated international travel for students, faculty and staff. GW's Office for International Programs and related offices continuously review changing safety conditions and risk levels around the world. We will evaluate and proactively communicate about the status of the trip on a case-by-case basis. Should you have any questions, please contact Executive Director, Jen Montgomery at jmontgo2@gwu.edu or 202.994.6771.Â
This year, student-athletes have the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program designed specifically for GW Athletics. The 10-day trip to Vietnam is designed to allow student-athletes to immerse themselves in Vietnamese culture over a short period and explore five themes—politics, religion, race, gender, and globalization—through experiential learning, critical thinking, and personal reflection.
Trip Costs
- Cost per student-athlete (includes program costs, flight and tuition) = $5,000
- Total trip costs (12 student-athletes) = $60,000
Athletics Advisory Council member and basketball season ticket holders Annemargaret Connolly, LAW '88, and Ken Frank are challenging athletics supporters like you to step up for GW student-athletes and will match up to $5,000 given to the Vietnam study abroad program.Â
